The opinion of the court was delivered by This is a direct appeal by the defendant, Gregory Raymond
Harkness, from his conviction of four counts of aggravated
kidnapping, three counts of rape, one count of aggravated sodomy,
and three counts of aggravated assault. The three separate incidents out of which the charges arose
took place on the 2d 4th, and 5th of June, 1981. Harkness was
convicted in 1982 and committed to Larned State Security
Hospital. He was returned to the trial court and sentenced in
January 1991. This appeal followed.
